The Society of HPC Professionals (SHPCP) -- invites you to attend:

A Lunch & Learn Round Table Discussion Meeting

Cluster Manager
Ease of cluster deployment and management for High Performance Computing, Data Center and Technical Computing environments.

Abstract:

Focused on administration of clusters, how can this difficult, constantly changing task be simplified. As an administrator is your goal to chase down errant packages, writing and maintaining scripts to perfectly configure servers after you have installed them? Or would your time be better spent focusing on reacting to business needs of your cluster? For those of you who have honed in your scripts over years, what happens when you win the lottery and decide to move to a tropical island?

In this session we will discuss daily use issues with tools to manage cluster configurations. How to put all that behind you and use proven scalable systems to insure Administrator time is better spent focusing on addressing business needs.

Live demonstration, open discussion, configuration management – how are you using it today and what would you like to streamline.

Other Beneficial points

Accelerate IT service delivery by automating and centralizing key functions, such as workload and infrastructure deployment.

  • Discover and deploy new resources with speed and confidence with guided workflows and a wizard-driven graphical interface.

  • Free up IT staff by dramatically reducing manual tasks and touch points so IT can focus on strategically aligned projects.

  • Use infrastructure more fully and efficiently by pooling server, storage, and network resources based on your specific requirements.

  • Standardize workload delivery to increase deployment accuracy and to scale your workloads based on business demand.

  • Manage infrastructure lifecycles with comprehensive firmware updates, compliance, and remediation across server, network, and storage resources.

  • Maximize investments in IT resources — with support for heterogeneous IT environments.

Presenter’s Bio:

Brady Black – Senior Solution Architect

Brady has spent his professional career in the High Performance Computing space starting off as an administrator for a Life Sciences cluster at the University of North Carolina. After a stint as an Administrator Brady ventured into the commercial side of HPC working for companies helping InfiniBand grow from its early infancy in SDR, through its current incarnations. Beyond networking, Brady has touched the server side of cluster, high performance parallel storage and most recently working on the cluster management side of HPC, cover both Rocks and Bright.
